This is an image collection with 177 images [in chronological order], that are specifically chosen thinking about possible future scenarios. The complete image archive [2246 images, April 2025], titled The Black and Blues or The Forgotten life of Eva Schippers came into existence in 2010 showing the forgotten life of Eva Schippers, the parts of an artistic practice that are seldom exposed; failures, unfinished ideas, stolen sentences, unwritten stories.

The image archive is most of the time private and hidden on my computer, but sometimes, when a core question arises in my life, it becomes visible as a collection like this one: EVA’s working on possible futures.

This process of choosing, collecting and showing these collections has become a necessary distraction from my otherwise more hands-on working method: A reflective and meditative process with self invented rules and rituals to gain perspective. These were the rules for choosing this specific collection:

The collection should be made in one moment
It has to be dark outside I have to be alone Look at each image for at least 10 sec. Choose if it is related to possible future scenarios

I hope by sharing this with you it becomes more than a personal archive, more than a personal attempt to stay sane in a changing world.
